Back a little in time...June 21

June 21 : Altho that day started normally, it was not to end normally...

Day was planned to kill many birds with the fabled one stone!

Started with a trip to Bukit Minyak in BM to collect some medication for my other half from her nephew who had bought it & brought it back from Melbourne, Australia. Tks a meg, CB!

Had lunch with her bro & fmly at Manhattan Fish Shop in Auto City. Tks for the nice Fish&Chips, KY!

Lots of nice restaurants / eateries in that area.

After lunch we crossed over the Penang Bridge to the island to visit another nephew whose wife who had been the lucky recipient of her very first bundle of Joy! Visited her at a private confinement home, an apartment block. Congrats, J...

Had dinner at Lemon Grass, a nice cosy eatery. Great special dishes were served. Our thanks to Amy.

Then it was a dropover at a cousin's place at Minden Heights to keep in touch with latest news abt their son's ailment & progress in treatment. Good news there cos he appears to be responding well to treatment.

After collecting our car at Amy's place, we left for home...Alor Star.

On the way, misfortune struck! At abt 113 km, some distance after the Sg Dua Toll Plaza, a loud clattering sound came from the right rear of our car. On checking, I saw a 4in or so long thick bolt sticking out of that wheel tyre!! Pl see attached pic.Phew...

See the bolt sticking out in the middle of the sidewall? Now how did that happen?

Luckily for us, we were very near a Rest Area & I could drive the car there to a well-lit spot to begin the tedious process of changing to a spare wheel & tyre.

What transpired after was a clear case that proves that good kind souls/samaritans still do exist!!

After abt an hour's delay, we were well on our way home...after conveying our gracious thanks to our kind & helpful "volunteers".

We reached home just b4 midnight...a truly eventful end to a great day! Zzzz ....
